Therapies used at the Natural Pain Management Clinic
Bowen Technique
The Bowen Technique is a relatively gentle technique consisting of a series of gentle rolling moves over muscle, tendon, ligaments, bones and fascia. It is believed that this helps restore "muscle memory", which can lead to rapid relief of pain and immobility. More details on the Bowen Techniek.
Emmett Technique
The Emmett Technique is a unique therapy form consisting largely of paired pressure points that are stimulated simultaneously. Holding these points for a short time can lead to very rapid reduction in pain, immobility and disturbances of balance. More over the Emmett Technique.
Positional Release Technique
Positional Release Technique is a generic name to describe several forms of therapy that are based on moving a muscle or joint into a position of reduced stress and holding it for a short period of time. This can lead to release of muscle spasm and pain. More over Positional Release Technique.
Muscle Energy Technique
Muscle Energy Technique is a variety of techniques where the client uses muscular effort through contraction to elicit reflex relaxation of either the muscle being contracted or another muscle. The contraction is usually resisted by the therapist so that it is controlled and safe. At the Natural Pain Management Clinic, Muscle Energy Technique and Positional Release Technique are often combined into one movement. More over Muscle Energy Technique.
Massage Therapy
Massage Therapy consists of variety of strokes that involve rubbing, kneading, lifting and squeezing muscles, tendons and connective tissue. They serve to relax muscles, increase blood supply and flush out built up toxins from themuscles. More over Massage Therapy.
